You will be responsible for day-to-day coordination with the client for advertising and PR campaigns, strategic planning and coordination with Creative and Media. The primary responsibility of the Manager, Multicultural Initiatives is to develop programs, activities, relationships and processes that will assist individual Councils and the Girl Scout movement in increasing the awareness and valuing multiculturalism by reaching and engaging previously underserved markets of girls and adults. She/he serves as a consultant and technical resource to Councils in targeting, reaching and recruiting and retaining girl members and adult volunteers in designated ethnic, cultural and racial markets.
The Manager, Multicultural Initiatives works to develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies and methodologies to identify, attract, recruit and retain girls and adult volunteers from emerging and/or underserved ethnic markets with strong emphasis within the Hispanic and/or Asian community. She/he initiates relationships, makes public presentations, develops proposals, and seeks every opportunity to expand the visibility and attractiveness of the Girl Scout movement to the assigned ethnic and racial organizations and audiences.
Minimum 3 to 5 years prior
experience working in organizations (e.g., Foundations, community based
organizations, public agencies, etc.) that specifically target, attract and
recruit members of underserved ethnic populations strongly preferred.
Emphasis in the Hispanic and/or Asian community is strongly preferred.
Depending on the ethnic market
being served or targeted, fluency in a language other than English may be
required.
Must have a recent and active professional network within professional organizations, corporations, public agencies, etc. that deal specifically with issues of multiculturalism and diversity.
Must have excellent and
demonstrated platform skills in order to make presentations to diverse
organizations and groups as a way of “selling” the Girl Scout commitment to
multiculturalism. Depending on the audience being addressed, presentations
may be in a language other than English.
Excellent writing skills in order to develop presentations, proposals, etc.
Bachelors Degree in training, marketing or similar field strongly preferred. Extensive and recent experience working in grass roots organizations or corporate environments where targeting and reaching specific ethnic organizations was a primary responsibility may serve as a proxy to the formal education.

Multicultural Marketing Resources Inc is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team.. This sales position will report to the President and be responsible for prospecting, developing, closing, and maintaining strategic advertising/sponsorship accounts. Duties include developing new business from direct clients, ad agencies, research firms, conference producers and other businesses and increasing share of budget for existing business
Prepares and delivers sales presentations & packages.
This advertising sales account executive will sell advertising space, sponsorships, consulting services and public relations services in the quarterly Multicultural Marketing News and our daily Multicultural E-letter eblast and on our website; sell listings and ads in the annual directory The Source Book of Multicultural Experts; sell consulting and public relations services and sponsorships etc. You will be making telephone sales calls to our database of 8500 people, in contact with hundreds of people a week by email and phone, plus follow up work including writing letters, preparing materials to send etc. You will respond to requests for company information, entering names in the database and sending materials. In addition to heavy phone and email contact there are in-person sales calls, business lunches, conferences and receptions to attend for sales prospecting
In addition to the sales duties, other activities related to publishing will be part of the job. These might include production responsibilities (proofreading etc) following up on invoices, liaison with designer, etc. We offer a base salary and commission, and a benefits package
Requirements-Computer and Internet Savvy, Knowledge of Microsoft
Office Applications, excellent oral and written communications skills, strong
interest in multicultural marketing and advertising sales.
Minimum of 3 years Media sales experience. You can work independently and take initiative, yet you report back on 100% of your activities and actions.
Outstanding customer relationship management. A good attitude is essential. - You do what it takes to get the job done.
